For a long time now we have been interviewing lots of Joomler volunteers and Joomla Teams. Now it is time to introduce a new series, interviewing Joomla User Groups (JUG). Are you in a JUG? Then we’d love to get to know you!

This months interviewee has only joined volunteering in the Joomla project three years ago. And he is quite active online too, answering questions from Joomlers for example. He is the Team Lead of the Joomla Extensions Directory team, come and meet Mark Fleeson!

In this interview the team, or better said in this case the group, gave a proper introduction. For me there is nothing left to do than to introduce the Framework Working Group!

Next in our Meet-a-Joomler - series we are going to meet Tom van der Laan. You might already have seen some of his work: he has made the latest release images as being in the Marketing team. When you see the name Automated Testing Team (ATT) you might have an idea what the scope of this team is. But what is “automated testing” exactly? And what solutions are they using? In this interview we come and meet the team team members and how this team works.

I guess most contributors to the code of Joomla have heard of Niels. Personally, I (only) met him at a Joomla Conference in Spain and he striked me as a passionate man. I loved reading his answers on my questions, I hope you do too.

The Joomla CMS version 1.0 was released on 17 August 2005 but did you know the forum was live a week prior to that? As I (Hans) wasn't around at that time I can't tell how it was used in that week before the first release, but since then many, many, many questions have been posted on the forum. And there is a team on the forum maintaining it and taking care the rules are followed and actions sometimes are taken. In this interview we will meet the Global Forum Team members.

Being a member of the Social Media Team sometimes gets you in the storm of a lot of comments where you can’t really do something.

After our previous series last year about how extension developers are getting their extensions ready for Joomla 4, we now have contacted a few developers in how in hindsight this transition went and if they came across challenges.

While our beloved Joomla CMS is of high quality there are always things to improve. This can be because of changes in how the internet looks at things or just that something works better another way. The Joomla Experience Team is working on this. But I will let them explain it much better than I can in the following team interview.
