This article is written as a continuation of those published in this magazine in November 2013 and January 2014. It is highly recommended to read these articles before venturing into the pleasant adventure of knowing what this article is going to be about. Why… What are we going to talk about in the next lines? We will discuss the process which Joomla generates to show information in my browser when you click anywhere.

L’été dernier, j’ai eu l’honneur de me voir confier différentes responsabilités quant à la coordination et au déploiement des différentes versions du CMS Joomla!. A cette époque, j’en connaissais assez peu sur le sujet mais j'ai très vite découvert qu'un grand nombre d'actions et de personnes étaient impliquées dans le cycle de révision. Alors, comment se déroule concrètement la mise en œuvre d’une nouvelle révision du CMS ?

Installing Joomla in production environments - in this article I start with a basic, high-level explanation of how Apache's document root works, which I hope will give you a clear understanding of how you can easily install multiple instances of Joomla under a single domain. Next, I list some of the benefits of creating separate web-help sites for individual products. And, finally, I cover the options available for installing Joomla in your production environments.

From May 30 to June 1st near Frankfurt, Germany the Joomla community from across the world will be gathering at J and Beyond for 3 days of "Investing in our Future". This is the 5th year of J and Beyond and each time we try to do something a little different. This year is no exception.

These have been busy days in our community, the like of which has rarely been seen before. Twitter has been burning with feedback accompanied by the Joomla! hashtag, and that's fine. It is good to see the community actively involved, even on issues that generate passionate discussions. We are all members of the same community.

Joomla 1.5 is not supported by the Joomla project for quite some time now. You still can continue to use Joomla 1.5, but (security) updates will no longer be released. Furthermore, both Joomla 2 and Joomla 3 have many new features and improvements. Perhaps you recognize it: once you use Joomla 2 or Joomla 3, managing a Joomla 1.5 website really feels old-fashioned and you notice how greatly Joomla actually improved.

What do you think about the administrator panel of Joomla! 3.x? The opinions are split. I for one got some serious negative feedback from my clients not wanting to upgrade, saying that the panel is not user friendly. Some of them said they were used to the old panel and it's hard for them to make the learning curve once again. Add to that the fact that most templates are not designed for RTL (right-to-left) languages, and in an RTL country like Israel, you are stuck.

C'est la cinquième année pour le J and Beyond, à chaque fois nous essayons de faire quelque chose de légèrement différent et cette fois encore nous ne dérogerons pas à la règle.

Ce samedi 22 février se déroulait le 3^ème Joomapéro organisé par le JUG Wallonie (en Belgique francophone). Pour rappel, ce JUG a vu le jour en avril 2013 et a opté pour des rencontres en 3 temps : une conférence sur un thème précis, suivi d’un repas convivial et enfin d’un forum/labo en live où débutants, amateurs, développeurs et membres actifs de la communauté se côtoient pour échanger, s’entraider…

Het waren drukke dagen de afgelopen tijd binnen onze community zoals je die voorheen niet veel zag. Twitter draaide overuren door de feedback vergezeld van de Joomla! hashtag, en dat is mooi. Het is goed om de community actief betrokken te zien, zelfs over onderwerpen die gepassioneerde discussies veroorzaken. We zijn allemaal leden van dezelfde community.
