Joomla’s first Super Sprint was held at CitizenM Bankside in London last weekend from the 21st to 23rd of January 2017 We had attendees from 15 countries (Bratislava, Canada, Denmark, Germany, Greece, India, Ireland, Malaysia, Netherlands, Spain, St Maarten, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom and USA), and a total of 37 attendees with 6 teams officially represented.

The Joomla Community Magazine (JCM) cannot exist without Joomla community members freely sharing their knowledge and time.

The second annual JoomlaDay Florida takes place on February 25th and 26th 2017 in Tampa, FL.  While winter dominates the rest of the United States, Florida is the perfect location to hold a JoomlaDay during the winter months.

These days it seems that in social networks, only negative comments are published. If a new initiative is launched, there are negative critics about why it is done and why it was not done otherwise. Also, there are those who aim to point out what is missing to complete it and that without it is useless. If you decide not to implement an idea, critics can only say that it was a bad idea. These comments are created without thinking, the product of elaborating a critic in 5 minutes, and dumped forever in social media. Without considering the time and effort of the volunteers, who in their precious free time, collaborate with the project.

in March 2015 the Joomla! Project announced its partnership with Glip, a business messaging app with built-in productivity tools. This partnership has enabled Joomla to streamline communication among its many teams and volunteers while providing a unified approach to tracking tasks, files and events. Over the last month, the JCM Public Room was created to facilitate the discussion and exchange of ideas between the JCM Team and anyone who is interested in contributing to the magazine.

The first of many virtual events reminds Joomla! newbies and professionals that keeping their Joomla! website updated is not an option it's a responsibility.

Joomla! incorpora un sistema de búsqueda desde hace mucho pero es a partir de la versión 2.5 en la que se añade la búsqueda inteligente o Smart Search. Ambas están incluidas en el núcleo, es decir, no es necesario instalar extensiones de terceros para disfrutar de ellas.

En estos días parece que en la redes sociales, sólo se publican comentarios negativos. Si se lanza una iniciativa nueva, aparecen críticas negativas acerca de porqué se hace y porque no se hizo otra cosa. También, hay quién apunta a señalar lo que falta para completarlo y que sin eso no sirve para nada. Si se decide no avanzar con una idea, solo se puede decir que era una mala idea. Estos comentarios son creados sin pensar, producto de elaborar una crítica en 5 minutos, y volcadas para siempre en los medios sociales. Sin considerar el tiempo y esfuerzo de los voluntarios, quienes en su escaso tiempo libre, colaboran con el proyecto.

Existen dos opciones para instalar Joomla en un servidor web, cada una tiene sus puntos a favor y en contra. En una de ellas, en unos cuantos clics por aquí y por allá, se puede tener disponible el sistema completo sin mayor complicación; en la segunda es preciso realiza un proceso de carga y configuración de archivos como se indicó en la instalación en un servidor local.

En los tiempos que corren la personalización es algo a tener en cuenta para poder destacar de nuestra competencia. Un aspecto diferenciador que transmite algo sobre nosotros.

En este sentido Joomla viene bien preparado para poder marcar esta diferenciación, tanto en la parte de Front (a través de plantillas o templates) como en la parte de Back (o panel de administración).

En este artículo vamos a ver cómo personalizar la parte de Back, tan olvidada muchas veces, pero que puede marcar la diferencia a la hora de que un cliente se encuentre "más a gusto" en su sitio web.

For me, surprisingly, I received an invitation to a Joomla! Automated Testing Code Sprint. Developers from all over the world come together. Of course I did not say no. My experiences with the active participation in the Code Sprint I would like to share with you in this article.
