JoomlaDay Florida: Trading the snow for sun!

JoomlaDay Florida: Trading the snow for sun!

The second annual JoomlaDay Florida takes place on February 25th and 26th 2017 in Tampa, FL.  While winter dominates the rest of the United States, Florida is the perfect location to hold a JoomlaDay during the winter months.

The first JoomlaDay Florida was a complete success with tickets selling out almost a month in advance.  90% of the attendees had never been to a Joomla event and were amazed by the friendliness and sessions from some of the best and brightest speakers in our community, including Open Source Matters / Joomla president - Sarah Watz.

A significant part of our community, JoomlaDay's gives users and contributors a place to meet, share ideas and learn more about the project and Joomla!  Not only for locals; Joomla events at unique locations draw people from around the globe.  Our first event had attendees from Georgia, Massachusetts, the Carolina's and global attendees from Haiti and Malaysia.  For JoomlaDay Florida 2017, we hope to attract even more out of state and international participants this year.  As of writing this article we are close to sold out with attendees coming from the USA and beyond.

The Location:

JoomlaDay Florida is taking place at Hillsborough Community College Ybor City Campus, in the Ybor City district of Tampa, FL. Ybor City is one of only two National Historic Landmark Districts in Florida. Founded in 1886 by Vicente Martinez-Ybor when he moved his cigar factory from Key West to Tampa, Ybor City holds a unique place in Florida’s social and economic history as our state’s “first industrial town.”

Historic buildings have turned into stylish offices, in-town residences and boutique hotels without sacrificing their historic character. In addition to being a top tourist destination, Ybor City is a great place to meet, greet and do business.
