Thank you to the Joomla Community Magazine contributors
The Joomla Community Magazine (JCM) cannot exist without Joomla community members freely sharing their knowledge and time.
In part 1 of the 2016 overview, we looked at who reads the JCM and where in the world it is most popular. In part 2 we say Thank You to to those who have been part of the last year.
2016 Overview
2016 was a tough year, with lots of changes (personal, Joomla organizational, and with the JCM website). Helvecio kept things going on the Editorial (content) side, while I was able to finish the migration of the JCM site to Joomla 3.x, with a lot of help from George Wilson. Many old custom plugins and modules complicated the upgrade, but we were able to complete the work that was started in 2015 (by Pete Bui), as well as switch the JCM over to the new Joomla.org responsive template. The content area layouts (custom K2 views) are still work-in-progress. Later in the year, Rowan Hoskyns-Abrahall managed the changeover of the JCM to https.
We did not reach the heights that was achieved by our previous Co-Lead-Editors (Alice & Dianne). There’s been JCM-team discussions earlier in the January, on how we can do better this year. In this month's JCM edition, Helvicio mentions one of the changes we have introduced, and he share more plans in the March edition.
JCM editions published
There were 11 English (including international articles) editions of the JCM, and 10 of the Spanish edition, that included 129 English & other international-language articles, and 72 articles in Spanish.
