Web accessibility is important for all websites and applications that we design and build to allow users with visual impairments or visual difficulties to easily view and consume content. Colour contrast happens to be one of the key elements of a design that can be tweaked and implemented correctly to help improve the visibility of text on a page, whether it is in the body of the page, or in the navigational elements of the website. Keep in mind, it isn't just users with visual impairments, but can also be users in situations where the screen that they're viewing is in an environment where it is harder to see such as sun glare on a screen. It also happens to be a very easy success criterion to test for and implement a fix to help meet WCAG 2.0 requirements.

Celebrating the fifth Joomla Day in Israel 2015, as well as 10 years for Joomla, the Israeli community got together for a full day conference on October 25th, 2015. It was a day filled with knowledge, connections, and excitment.

This article has been written by the Joomla in Action Workshop during the #jwc15. First we follow the steps for the registration process inside the magazine for the aspiring Joomla writers. After that, every participant wrote a paragraph which is shared in this article.

After that, participants were asked to showcase their writting skills.

It's that time of the year again, where you have to take a stand for the CMS you love. Joomla won the People’s choice award for ‘Best Open Source PHP CMS’ last year. So show your love for Joomla and nominate Joomla! in the categories that you think Joomla fits best.

One of the largest Open Source and non-commercial events of the year in Kuala Lumpur is JoomlaDay Malaysia 2015. It attracted more than 245 participants from all over the country. I had the pleasure of organizing the event for the first time after a long break of 3 years and I can happily report that the event was again an effective means of bringing the Joomla community together to share knowledge and best practices, as well as to network with key Joomla developers.

Joomla 3.4.4 is scheduled for release on Monday 7th September and a release candidate is available for testing. Each time there is a new release, whether its a bug fix release or a new feature release, you will always find people asking "have they fixed this yet?" or complaining that "this bug that has been there for years" has still not been fixed.

This year Joomla has its 10th anniversary. So, on to the next 10 years... What will Joomla look like, 10 years from now, in 2025? A couple of current trends might change the way we work with, and how we look at, websites in the future. The main change regarding websites (and thus Joomla) is that there will be a shift in sharing information via HTML web pages to linked structured data exchange via (web) applications.

In my first article we discussed why everyone needs a membership site, then we went on in the second to discuss different types and ways to use membership sites. I hope you got good value from those and are ready for some ‘show and tell’! In this installment, we’ll go behind the curtains of how some clients are using their membership sites everyday.
