One of the largest Open Source and non-commercial events of the year in Kuala Lumpur is JoomlaDay Malaysia 2015. It attracted more than 245 participants from all over the country. I had the pleasure of organizing the event for the first time after a long break of 3 years and I can happily report that the event was again an effective means of bringing the Joomla community together to share knowledge and best practices, as well as to network with key Joomla developers.
Joomla 3.4.4 is scheduled for release on Monday 7th September and a release candidate is available for testing. Each time there is a new release, whether its a bug fix release or a new feature release, you will always find people asking "have they fixed this yet?" or complaining that "this bug that has been there for years" has still not been fixed.
This year Joomla has its 10th anniversary. So, on to the next 10 years... What will Joomla look like, 10 years from now, in 2025? A couple of current trends might change the way we work with, and how we look at, websites in the future. The main change regarding websites (and thus Joomla) is that there will be a shift in sharing information via HTML web pages to linked structured data exchange via (web) applications.
