It's that time. The time of year when you start to organize your calendar and plan your events. I know, you should have done it January 1, start the year off right. You probably had every intention of making 2014 the year you were in complete control of your tasks, your projects, and your calendar. Now before you've even had time to breathe, it's February. I can't tell you how it happens but it always does - and now it has happened again. But don't worry, don't fret, and certainly don't give up on your goals. It's never to late to start planning. Which means now is the perfect time to discuss an important opportunity.

Ya sabes utilizar Joomla!. Ya eres capaz de montar sitios web, adaptar plantillas, instalar y modificar componentes, hasta desarrollar tus propios plugins. La actual versión 3.X de Joomla presenta una serie de mejoras y nuevas características con respecto a sus versiones anteriores que van desde un nuevo sistema de instalación más resumido y con nuevas opciones para los que son principiantes en el manejo de este CMS, pasando por una interfaz administrativa mucho más intuitiva y organizada, facilitando tareas tales como la administración de usuarios, hasta, su plato fuerte, la gestión del SEO que tanto peso tiene en cualquier web que se precie.

Una de las mayores bellezas de la programación está bajo la palabra: REUTILIZAR. Adaptar un mismo trozo de código para múltiples situaciones, haciendo la ejecución mucho más rápida y armónica, es una práctica que no todos tienen, especialmente cuando empezamos a programar de forma no ordenada.

One of the most exciting areas of involvement for Joomla has been the participation of young Joomla programmers in Google Summer of Code. Their work has helped to make the software better, and has contributed to numerous articles in this magazine detailing their projects. Chad Windnagle has been coordinating this effort for the past couple of years, and he kindly took the time to sit down for an interview...

The most important feature that was released with version 3.2 of Joomla, in my opinion, is without a doubt the "Joomla Extension Finder aka Install from Web" which allows you to install extensions listed in the JED (Joomla Extensions Directory) in a simple and rapid way directly from the control panel.

Last summer, I was lucky enough to inherit many of the responsibilities as it pertains to coordinating and executing releases of the Joomla! CMS. Little did I know at the time, but there are a lot of details and individuals involved in the full release cycle. So, what exactly goes into making a release of the CMS?

This is the first in a short series of articles intended to help technical writers and instructional designers learn how to build Joomla web-help systems. However, if you’re not a professional writer, you may still have an interest in the topic. For example, maybe you’re a one-person development shop, or you work for a small company without technical writers, and you want to write and publish your own software documentation. Faisant partie de la communauté, je me demande parfois comment ai-je débuté avec Joomla! il y a 6-7 ans. Nous n’avions pas Facebook ou Twitter où demander de l’aide ou du support sur les extensions. Aujourd’hui, je me demande si les débutants savent comment chercher dans le JED. Chercher dans QUOI… ?

Chegou a hora. Aquela hora do ano quando se começa a organizar a agenda e planejar eventos. Sim, deveria ter começado em 1º de janeiro, bem no começo do ano. Provavelmente teve a intenção de em 2014 estar no controle de suas tarefas, projetos e agenda. Agora, e você mal teve tempo de respirar, já é fevereiro. Não posso dizer como acontece mas é sempre a mesma coisa - e acabou de acontecer mais uma vez. Mas não se preocupe e não desista de suas metas. Nunca é tarde para começar a planejar. O que quer dizer que agora é o melhor momento para se falar de uma oportunidade importante.

Het is weer zover. De tijd van het jaar waarop je begint met je agenda te vullen en je evenementen te plannen. Ik weet het, eigenlijk had je het al op 1 januari willen doen, om het jaar gelijk goed te beginnen. Je was waarschijnlijk van plan om in 2014 te zorgen dat je al je taken, projecten en je agenda volledig onder controle zou houden. En nu, voordat je op adem bent gekomen is het alweer februari. Ik kan je ook niet vertellen hoe dat kan, maar zo gaat het altijd - nu dus ook weer. Maar geen zorgen, maak je niet druk en geef vooral je goede voornemens nog niet op. Het is nooit te laat om te beginnen met plannen. Precies de juiste tijd dus om een belangrijke gelegenheid met je te bespreken.

Llegó el momento. Ese momento en el que comienzas a organizar tu calendario y a planificar tus eventos. Es verdad, tenías que haberlo hecho el 1° de Enero para comenzar el año como corresponde. Probablemente tuviste la intención de hacer de este 2014 el año en el que tendrías completo control de tus tareas, proyectos y obvio, tu calendario. Ahora, antes que siquiera vuelvas a respirar te lo comento, llegó Febrero. Así es, no me preguntes cómo ni por qué, pero siempre sucede y sucedió nuevamente. Pero no te preocupes, no te desanimes, nunca es tarde para comenzar nuevamente, lo que significa que es el momento perfecto para que conversemos acerca de algo importante...
