With 62 attendees and speakers, we had a great turn-out for the second JoomlaDay Boston event! We had a great group of Joomla folks this year! We teamed up with JoomlaDay New England and Julio Merji even traveled all the way from Rio de Janiero to attend his very first JoomlaDay event!

Joomla! at CeBIT 2014 - Big Business!

From March 10 - 14, CeBit, the world's largest IT fair opened its doors in Hannover, Germany. CeBIT is by far the most important IT related fair in Europe and also has a big international impact, which is underlined by the fact that this year’s CeBIT was visited by people from more than 100 different countries. Like last year, the Joomla! project, represented by a team of well known volunteers from the local community, was part of the CMS Garden booth in Hall 6 at the event.

CMS AFRICA, an organization which creates awareness on various open source CMSs is partnering with Kenya’s premier Business Institute of higher learning, Strathmore University, to host the CMS Africa Summit. The two day summit slated for March 7th and 8th, Nairobi, Kenya, is expected to attract web designers, web analysts, app developers, web administrators, government agencies, and digital marketers in Africa.

Joomla!Ignite was a new presentation style added to the 2013 Joomla World Conference. Twelve presenters took the stage at Harvard University to battle a tightly controlled five minute presentation format where 20 slides changed automatically every 15 seconds. Topics varied widely, but generally fell into three areas – self improvement, the Joomla! community experience, and soapboxes for change.
