This is an update on my GSoC 2013 project - Improvements to the Template Manager for CMS 3. Do checkout the video that I've done and tell me what do you think about the project.

A couple of months ago I wrote an article about my Google Summer of Code project, which aimed to add microdata semantics in the Joomla CMS. Now lets take a closer look at the status of this project to see what has been done.

Google Summer of Code has come to an end and it was an interesting experience for me at Joomla! My project was about implementing cloud storage support for Amazon Simple Storage Service, Rackspace and Google Cloud Storage.

With the upcoming Joomla! CMS releases, the new MVC will play a major role. Through my Google Summer Of Code project, I've taken the initial steps for that.

This article follows the introductory article in Joomla magazine July issue (https://magazine.joomla.org/issues/issue-july-2013/item/1366-module-modernization). In this article, I will briefly introduce some of the new modules which will be added to Joomla in near future and few of the new features such as module ACL and global configuration.

Season’s Greetings, Joomla Friends! This year has been very busy for everyone involved in Joomla development, so I’m really excited to be able to publish the results of the program. Joomla CMS being one of the top Content Management Systems in the world, we need to consider more about improving the speed of Joomla CMS. The major focus of my GSoC project is to ensure that the overheads in database interactions are reduced and improving the speed of Joomla CMS.

Automated system tests allow the developer to test the CMS by automatically running Joomla! from a browser, selecting menu options, and evaluating results.

Managing date and time is not simple and many of us developers don't like to do it. Unfortunately, we need this in almost any application. To be honest, I can't imagine an application that does not use date or time at some point. My goal is to make it more simple and more intuitive. The result would be writing less code by developers. What am I going to do? I'm going to create a brand new Date class.
