When you sit down at a local coffee shop or free public Wi-Fi hotspot, log into one of your favorite sites, and begin surfing the web, you might as well be handing out business cards with your login IDs and passwords to everyone around you. That’s because sites that don’t have HTTPS encryption provide no protection for the end user. Instead, they leave you vulnerable and exposed. Is that a place you want to put your site’s visitors?

Joomla is becoming more and more popular and spreading around the globe at an incredible pace. As more and more people are drawn into community life, it’s time to ask questions that may interest many. This month here is some first-hand information about Joomla in an interview with Brian Teeman – a Joomla co-founder. Enjoy!

Joomla is very flexible and has many possibilities. A disadvantage is that working with Joomla can seem complex because of all of the setting and navigation choices. For a Joomla specialist this is usually not an issue, but for many end users it can be a stumbling block. Adding new articles via the Joomla frontend is often one of the first things end users face. This should be a simple operation, but many experience this as very complex.

Organising an event can be quite a difficult process – finding a venue, getting listed on events.joomla.org, organising sponsors and more.
