JoomlaDay France 2025 – Metz, an edition focused on the community
On 17 and 18 October 2025, the French-speaking Joomla community gathered in Metz for a new edition of JoomlaDay France. Two days rich in exchanges, conferences and conviviality, organised by the AFUJ at Techno'Pôles CESCOM.
On Friday 17 and Saturday 18 October 2025, the French-speaking Joomla! community gathered in Metz for an exciting event focused on sharing, exchange and learning: JoomlaDay France. Organised by the Association Francophone des Utilisateurs de Joomla! (AFUJ) at the Techno'Pôles CESCOM centre, the event lived up to its promise: two days dedicated to the community, best practices, networking and discovery.

Metz, a European crossroads, accessible and welcoming.
The choice of Metz for the third consecutive year is no coincidence: the venues are familiar, the service providers are used to working together, which makes organisation easier. The city of Metz is accessible by train, plane and motorway, and accommodation is available close to the conference venues.
Metz is also a tourist destination with numerous museums and monuments, which our guests were able to visit during their stay.
Tight organisation and effective preparation.
The AFUJ office is well-versed in preparing for Joomladay.
It was necessary to:
-
prepare the website and registrations;
-
manage the organisation of conferences;
-
organise lunches (organic bowls delivered by a local supplier);
-
purchase goodies;
-
promote the event.
Cyrille Poussin, president of AFUJ, was almost single-handedly responsible for this complex organisation.
Then, on the eve of the event, we had to prepare the room with all the equipment, because not only did we have speakers to broadcast via video conference, but all the conferences were also broadcast live to those who had paid for their tickets and recorded for possible rebroadcasting.
This technical work, which was extremely important and essential, was carried out by Yannick Gauthier, who had arrived the day before with all his equipment. We owe the success of the conferences to him.
Conferences by everyone, for everyone.
Each level (beginner, intermediate, expert) found material to enrich their skills. As announced by the AFUJ: "Whether you are a beginner or an experienced user... this event offers an ideal platform to hone your skills, meet experts and discover innovations.

Acknowledging our sponsors for the occasion
For this edition of JoomlaDay France 2025 in Metz, we were honoured to count on the support of our main sponsor, PlanetHoster. Their Director General, Mina Shenouda, made the trip from Canada especially for the occasion, reaffirming PlanetHoster’s ongoing commitment to the Joomla community and to open-source innovation.
We also extend our sincere thanks to JoomShaper, who took advantage of the event to update all their components and templates for Joomla 6. This remarkable effort perfectly embodies the collaborative spirit and technical excellence that drive the Joomla ecosystem forward.
A warm atmosphere of friendly sharing.
Even though we were not as numerous as at pre-COVID events, over the course of three days we witnessed interesting exchanges between participants and speakers.
The discussions continued in the evenings over enjoyable meals, with promises to do it again.
And now, what's next?
Metz provided an opportunity for healthy discussions about the future of Joomla in France, and all participants expressed a desire to contribute to promoting the CMS.
The idea of holding more regular video sessions on one or more extensions, showcasing developers and professionals, has gained traction, and the AFUJ should put this into action while waiting for the next physical Joomladay.

Thank you to everyone, especially Cyrille and Yannick.
