Joomla cares: Give Back to Sandra
The eye of Hurricane Irma passed over the tiny island of St Maarten, taking lives and leaving most on the island homeless. Sandra Decoux (Thevenet) was lucky to survive, unfortunately, however her house and car were badly damaged.
Sandra is still living without electricity, running water and internet. We receive sporadic messages from her when she manages to get to one of the few points on the island with internet access.
Sandra’s house was in the process of being sold and her sole source of funds for the coming months was tied up in the sale. The sale has now been called off and much of the damage in need of repair is not covered by her buildings insurance.
Sandra is a Passionate Open Source contributor. Sandra has been working in the Joomla Project, to teach the world the power of open source for many years. She dedicates over 50 hours a week to Joomla as a volunteer. Sandra has recently been elected as Marketing Department Coordinator and is currently a member of the Documentation Teams, Webmasters Team, Marketing & Communication Teams and contributes as much as she can in a wide range of Joomla! areas and projects including but not limited to, Documentation, Localization, CSS, Landing Pages and maintenance of some of the project’s websites.
A core group of open source enthusiasts put together this fundraiser to help Sandra in her time of need.
Money raised will go towards helping Sandra to recover from this tragedy and to keep her afloat financially whilst she does so...
