Earlier this month Joomla 4 Release Candidate was made available, and Release Candidate 2 came out last week. With a fortnightly release schedule for updated RC releases, Joomla 4 is fast approaching the stable release, and you can get involved in the final stages.

Listen, understand and help solve the existing problems: that’s what Philip Walton planned to do once he got elected as Joomla’s new Marketing and Communications Department Coordinator (and had started doing already in the weeks before). JCM had the pleasure of interviewing this highly committed brand new DC, who is, according to his Manifesto, happy to roll up his sleeves and get on with the job - but he may need you and me and a couple of others to become a ‘unified force’ and really get the job done.

Meet a Joomler - Chris Keen

Back in 2009, Chris needed to build a website. After building an HTML site, he thought there had to be a better way to do it. And he discovered Joomla. With a professional career as a data engineer, he continued using Joomla for personal projects. In 2015 he decided it was time to give something back to the project, and he joined the Certification Program Team. First, reviewing questions and answers, and since 2017 as Team Leader.

Joomla is the phonetic spelling of the Swahili word "Jumla" which means "all together" or "as a whole". However, open-source projects have historically not been as inclusive as the users they serve.
Since June is pride month for LGBTQA+ individuals in many parts of the world, I wanted to take the time to reflect on how we can be more accepting in open source.
