Du 30 mai au 1er juin près de Francfort, en Allemagne, la communauté Joomla! du monde entier va se réunir au J and Beyond pour 3 jours "d'Investissement sur le Futur". C'est la cinquième année pour le J and Beyond, à chaque fois nous essayons de faire quelque chose de légèrement différent et cette fois encore nous ne dérogerons pas à la règle.

Have you ever wanted to add a link to an article from within another article,without adding that linked article to your site's Main Menu, but but were frustrated trying to get your favorite selection of modules to be displayed with the article? The answer to managing the display of modules lies in using a Hidden Menu. (Also called an Invisible Menu.)

Ce samedi 22 février se déroulait le 3ème Joomapéro organisé par le JUG Wallonie (en Belgique francophone). Pour rappel, ce JUG a vu le jour en avril 2013 et a opté pour des rencontres en 3 temps : une conférence sur un thème précis, suivi d’un repas convivial et enfin d’un forum/labo en live où débutants, amateurs, développeurs et membres actifs de la communauté se côtoient pour échanger, s’entraider…

Certains d’entre vous ne parlent pas ou peu la langue de Shakespeare. Fort heureusement, quelques articles du Magazine de la Communauté Joomla! (le JCM) sont d’ores et déjà écrits ou traduits dans la langue de Molière. Il est temps de passer à la vitesse supérieure et de tenter, tous ensemble, d’enrichir la section francophone du Magazine de la Communauté Joomla! pour favoriser un peu plus son internationalisation comme l’ont si bien fait nos cousins hispanophones dont l’édition dans la langue de Cervantes est aujourd’hui un véritable succès!

These have been busy days in our community, the like of which has rarely been seen before. Twitter has been burning with feedback accompanied by the Joomla! hashtag, and that's fine. It is good to see the community actively involved, even on issues that generate passionate discussions. We are all members of the same community.
Complex Joomla! 1.5 Migration With Minimal Downtime

Joomla 1.5 is not supported by the Joomla project for quite some time now. You still can continue to use Joomla 1.5, but (security) updates will no longer be released. Furthermore, both Joomla 2 and Joomla 3 have many new features and improvements. Perhaps you recognize it: once you use Joomla 2 or Joomla 3, managing a Joomla 1.5 website really feels old-fashioned and you notice how greatly Joomla actually improved.

RTL Administrator Template, and More!
What do you think about the administrator panel of Joomla! 3.x? The opinions are split. I for one got some serious negative feedback from my clients not wanting to upgrade, saying that the panel is not user friendly. Some of them said they were used to the old panel and it's hard for them to make the learning curve once again. Add to that the fact that most templates are not designed for RTL (right-to-left) languages, and in an RTL country like Israel, you are stuck.
