Happy 2nd Birthday, JCM!
The Joomla! Community Magazine celebrates its 2nd birthday this month! Since July 2010, there have been 503 articles published in 18 languages. According to Google Analytics, we have had 1,118,483 unique visits to the site, with 1,769,164 page views! Not bad for a two year old!
The Joomla! Community Magazine has been a great means of communication for the project. The monthly articles that have been featured have covered everything from interviews of community members, to how-to tutorials on using Joomla and its various extensions. Our authors are interspersed around the world. We are multi-lingual, multi-cultural and multi-faceted. Designers, developers, programmers and promoters… Joomla encompasses and embraces its community. And YOU are the community!
I love Joomla! How can I get involved?
I’m glad you asked! Right now there are lots of ways to bring your magic to the project.
Joomla 3.0 will be launched soon and the marketing team is looking for volunteers! This is a dynamic group of people where creativity and ideas are welcomed!
The Bug Squad always needs help testing and writing patches. It’s a quick and easy way learn more about Joomla and coding. http://docs.joomla.org/Bug_Squad Be sure to read Mark Dexter's article about Testing Joomla!
Do you live on Twitter or Facebook? The Social Media teams are always looking for help! https://community.joomla.org/blogs/community/1584-social-help.html
Speaking of Twitter, log in on any given Friday and join the #jparty. It’s an international group where you can get to know a few folks and have a bit of fun tweeting!
Now that you have gotten to know your fellow Joomlers, attend an event and meet them in person! You can find all the upcoming Joomla events on the new events site at http://events.joomla.org.
Alice and I want to thank the dedicated JCM team for all the hard work that goes in to creating the magazine each and every month. We'd also like to thank YOU, the readers, who continue to support and contribute to the JCM.
As we enter our third year, we remain committed to bringing you informative articles and news from the Joomlasphere. Add your birthday wish to the magazine in the comments, and give us a tweet using #jmag! Now, go have some cake!
