The current Joomla Extensions Directory (JED) features a system that has worked very well up to this point, but it has simply outgrown itself. There is a demand for new features and functionality, and the JED Team is seeking proposals from developers interested in creating a new 3.x listing management extension for a shiny, new Joomla Extensions Directory.

The JED has over 7,000 extensions ready for Joomla 2.5 and 3.x and thousands of other extensions in the J1.5 Archive. Throughout the years, the JED has continually proven to be the best way for developers to get their work to the Joomla community.

If you’re a developer, this is an outstanding opportunity to have your work used by the entire community. Consider submitting a proposal to develop the main component for the new JED. There are extensive requirements for the new system, and the JED Team wants to work closely with the selected developer.
