Good bye 2023 ...

We have just entered a new year according to the Gregorian calendar.

In 2023, the hottest year on record, the world has suffered an ongoing climat crisis, new conflicts have emerged, and wars continue just about everywhere.

All this is hardly encouraging, perhaps even depressing: we live in a world of doubt, fear and conflict.

... Welcome to 2024!

It's traditional to believe that everything can start again on the first of January each year, that wishing each other a happy and healthy new year will help the world to change. We all make wishes, promises and prayers, and we hope for the best.

So I suggest you do the same with the Joomla community:

Let’s imagine

For this new year, imagine a world where people work together to build a better society.

Let's imagine a world where people talk to each other, communicate, put their problems on the table so that solutions can be found.

Imagine a world of solidarity, regardless of race, nationality, religion or gender. 

Imagine, quite simply, a world of happy sharing.

But, in fact? Am I not describing the world of Joomla?

Joomlers are the future, starting now

Yes they are, Yes YOU are !

When we see the values of sharing, peace and benevolence that are the cement of our community, we can only think that thanks to the open source spirit that is blowing over the global internet, the world could be a better place.

In 2024, 56% of the world's population will have the chance to vote, so the things that need changing can be changed, and the things that are going in the right direction can continue.

The Joomla community is made up of people, humans, from all countries, of all beliefs and of all ages, who exchange and share ideas while respecting each other's differences. We are people who are concerned about their neighbours in countries at war or in disaster zones, or simply about their loved ones who are going through difficult times.

These are moments of conviviality, solidarity and, quite simply, love.

We experience them throughout the year, and that's why we can only hope that the year ahead will be a better one.
