Leadership Highlights - November 2013

Leadership Highlights - November 2013

The Joomla Project leadership news roundup for the month of November includes some egg-cellent items that will make you smile :-)

Joomla Releases

Joomla coders are busy every month, but October was super productive with three releases: 3.2 Beta 1, 3.2 Beta 2 and just today, 3.2 Release Candidate. The announcements will tell you who these releases are for, the timeline for future releases, as well as the new features included in each release. Thanks to the hard work of our volunteer developers Joomla keeps moving onward!

One Size No Longer Fits All?

Andrew Eddie is talking about the Joomla CMS Distributions Working Group , an initiative to explore packaging Joomla in different configurations destined for a variety of website installs. He even wrote an article about it in this month's magazine. Volunteers are encouraged and welcome to get involved in this effort.

A New Capital Committee Team Leader for OSM

Nominations for this position have closed and the board of OSM is examining the nominees. The team leader announcement will be made soon. Stay tuned!

Joomla World Conference

The JWC takes place next week in Boston. Fantastic speakers, informative workshops, and convivial networking guaranteed. Oh, and beer, too! It's not too late to get your ticket. Hope to see you there!

Leadership Summit

For two days prior to the JWC, the leadership teams will be meeting both separately and together to brainstorm, communicate, plan and collaborate. These face to face meetings add an important dimension to our teamwork.

Two Leadership Members Moving On

A huge, warm thanks goes to Dianne Henning and Mark Dexter as their terms are ending. Dianne served for three years on OSM, and Mark leaves the PLT after four years of dedicated service. It is hard to think of both teams without these two forces of nature. Fortunately for the project they will both continue to be active. Dianne is currently lead organizer of the Joomla! World Conference and the upcoming JoomlaDay Boston, and is Co-Lead Editor of this magazine, and Mark as a leader in the critical work of the Bug Squad.
