Community Openings: November 2020

Joomla! is all about community. This community is strong because of individuals who give of their time and talent, people like YOU! While coders are needed, other skills are too. There are many opportunities in marketing, finance, legal, compliance, testing, and more.

Each month we will highlight a few of the areas that could use a helping hand. If you don’t see anything below that works for you, check out the Help Wanted page or contact the Volunteer Engagement Team for assistance in getting matched with the right opportunity.

Marketing, Writing and Promotions

Joomla needs your help in telling and showing the world how great it is. There are opportunities for you to leverage your writing, marketing, and promotional skills.

Release Announcements Coordinator

The Marketing Team is looking for a team member available to spend a few hours every six weeks working with Production to prepare the upcoming Release Announcement a week before the intended release.

The interested team member would need to coordinate with the production team to determine if the release includes any significant security or bug fixes to be included in the announcement. You’ll then create a post outlining the main release features, create an appropriate image, and send out the newsletter announcement, and liaise with other Marketing Department teams to communicate through other Joomla communication channels.

Joomla 4 Marketing Team - Copywriters and more

By now you’ve no doubt heard that Joomla! 4 is coming, the Joomla 4 Marketing team is gearing up to tell everyone, everywhere all about it, you can help.

The Marketing Team is looking for talented copywriters to help with developing marketing and communication materials for the upcoming release of Joomla 4.

The Joomla 4 Marketing Team’s brief is to come up with materials that engage new Joomla users to consider using Joomla 4, as well as encourage experienced Joomla users to upgrade to Joomla 4 when it’s released.

If you’re a copywriter with the talent to help sell Joomla as a leading content management system to the world, we need your skills. Joomla needs copywriters who are ideally familiar with Joomla, and also familiar with Joomla’s target market, so that their copy is relevant and modern, and understand how people will react to their writing.

If you’re not a copywriter, but reading this makes you think your skillset might also be useful to the Joomla 4 Marketing Team, find out more about the opportunities available here: https://volunteers.joomla.org/teams/joomla-4-marketing-team#roles
