Leadership Highlights July 2015
While summer vacations are gradually arriving for part of the world, another part enjoys the coolness of winter. Our worldwide community is as diverse as the seasons in the world. And while we stay focused on our software instead of rainbow colors, everyone is equal and welcome to collaborate in our community.
A brand new Joomla version just shipped yesterday that solves some security problems and contains lots of bug fixes. We are thrilled to see that so many volunteers helped to fix those nasty bugs and help out to improve our CMS. A huge thank you to everyone involved in this release.
The Production Leadership Team published a report of their summit at JandBeyond in Prague. They discussed numerous subjects and report some great plans for the future. Just take a little time to read through the report, and feel encouraged to put your name forward where you think your skills can be of use.
In case you already are actively involved in one or more of the many working groups in our project, and you would like to attend the Joomla World Conference in November but you could use a little support, take a look at the Joomla Event Traveller Programme (JET) over here. The deadline for applications is July 15.
Restructuring
Earlier a small guide to volunteering and liability was published after some questions reached the structure team. It’s an interesting read for everyone who volunteers in our project.
Recently the structure team published an announcement about the formation of the transition team that will provide guidance and processes to transition into the new structure. Stay tuned for the nomination form and submit your nomination if you think you can help the project in this area or when you know someone that you would like to nominate. This soon-to-be-formed team will have an important task to fulfill.
