After JandBeyond, the international Joomla conference, took a break in 2019, finally having a JAB on the horizon again in 2020 was an extremely enjoyable thought.
The team developed a brand new website, started collecting talk proposals and was right in the middle of the arrangements with the venue in sunny Lisbon – and then, the COVID-19 crisis kicked in.
We, as organisers closely watched how the situation evolved. After a couple of weeks, it became apparent that an in-person conference is an incalculable risk – finally leading to the decision to cancel JAB 2020.
Other events quickly followed, one of them being JoomlaDay Austria 2020, which was cancelled less than one week before the event took place. As the speakers had already prepared their talks, a full day streaming session was organised as a replacement. It turned out as a great success, motivating us as organisers to also offer an online edition of J&Beyond.
Having JAB's international audience in mind, we'll do a 24 hour non-stop stream, allowing every Joomler around the globe, regardless of the timezone, to attend. You can do a presentation, support us with a sponsorship or just watch the event and sessions.
The event starts at 00:00 UTC on the 30th of May 2020 and will run 24 hours. We will stream the event live on YouTube.
If you want to make a presentation, you need the ability to share your screen with us, and you need a microphone so that we can hear you – that's it. So, don't be shy and submit your session.
