Back in school, I started playing with static web pages and creating something that actually worked, based on a few tutorials, it felt like so much fun. After that, I discovered PHP, and, with time, I’ve come to enjoy web-development very much. Curiosity naturally led me to a technical faculty and I’m currently pursuing my Master’s degree at “Politehnica” University of Bucharest, Romania.
During GSoC 2012, I contributed to phpMyAdmin and it was a totally positive experience from which I learnt a lot. I enjoyed coding on phpMyAdmin, I understood how the whole project works and I had the chance of merging my ideas, which was very nice.
This year, I wanted to do something different, but still open source and Joomla seemed like the perfect option. While looking through the project ideas page, one in particular appealed to me, and it was the only one I applied for. My project aims to implement support for three cloud storage APIs: Amazon S3, Google Cloud Storage and Rackspace Cloud Files.
I find these packages very useful in terms of allowing an easy interaction with the cloud storage APIs and my aim is to merge them by the end of the summer. After GSoC, I would also like to implement support for the Dropbox API.
