Joomla! Certification Project Status

On December 1st, 2012 a call was made by Sarah Watz for volunteers to help the Certification Program come alive. Since then several articles published and some demo sessions conducted at Joomla! events to make it happen. Over the time the certification team structure changed with new members on board and working actively for the past two years to make this happen. We are excited to announce the Joomla! Certification will be available from September 1st 2016.

Joomla! 3 Administrator exam contains 60 multichoice questions (MCQ) and has time limit of 90 minutes. Exams can only taken at Joomla! Learning Partners (JLP), JoomlaDays or JUGs and exam sessions will be supervised by approved supervisors. You need to obtain 80% marks to pass this exam.

Upon passing the exam, your profile will be listed at Certified User Directory.

The Platform

The certification platform is built on open source systems which allow the certification team to conduct exams, manage payments and manage certified user database. Students required to install Safe Exam Browser which will prevent any plagiarism activities such as screen recording, copy paste and accessing other URL. This platform will also prevent users taking the exam from a VM for security reasons. More restrictions such as fixed IP address, browser ID and computer mac fingerprint can be applied near future if necessary.
