2011 Packt Awards: Vote for Joomla! Now!

2011 Packt Awards: Vote for Joomla! Now!

Yes, it’s that time of the year again. Time to cast your vote in support of your favorite Open Source project.

The Open Source Awards competition, organized by Packt Publishing, has been running since 2006. Its goal is to recognize and reward the efforts of the Open Source communities by letting the public, together with a panel of judges decide which project deserves to win the coveted accolade that also carries a money prize.

Judges decide on the initial selection of nominees or finalists, as they are called, by evaluating each contestant against a pre-determined set of criteria. Then the competition is open to the public and users cast their votes to decide who the winner is.

The contest this year has 6 categories:

Joomla! has successfully been selected as a finalist and will now compete against Drupal, Mojoportal, Plone and Silverstripe in the category of Open Source CMS.

Since it is users like you who determine which Open Source project deserves to be the winner, if you are interested, and if your favorite content management system is in the list above, click here to vote. The process is simple – just leave your name and email, and you might even win a Kindle if you are lucky.* Voting closes on 31st October 2011, with the winners announced throughout the week commencing 7th November 2011.
