Joomla! World Conference 2026

The Joomla World Conference is one of those rare occasions when our largely digital community meets in the real world. Most of the year, we collaborate through chats, commits, and GitHub issues - but during JWC, we get the chance to connect, share ideas, and experience the Joomla community in a way that simply isn't possible online.

Online, we know each other through usernames, avatars, and commit logs. We fix bugs together at 2 AM, debate features across time zones, and celebrate releases with teammates we've never met in person. But do we really know each other? Not yet - at least not in the way that matters.

This October, that can change.

Be part of it!

The Joomla World Conference is an event for everyone working with Joomla, from regular user to contributor, volunteer, organizer, advocate, designer, developer, documentation writer, translator, tester, community helper, and enthusiast. Without you, Joomla is just software. With you, it becomes a movement.

What's happening at JWC

Inspiring talks, tutorials, workshops, hands‑on sessions, and real‑world problem‑solving will give you new knowledge, new tools, new perspectives, and new ideas to bring back to your everyday Joomla life.

Grow your skills and your confidence

Do you sometimes feel like you're ‘the only Joomler in the village'? At JWC, you'll walk into a room and instantly feel it: These are my people. They share my passion for Joomla. They get me.

The hallway conversations, the passionate keynote, the smart solutions you want to try out, the late‑night brainstorming sessions, the laughter over dinner, and the hug from someone who has become a friend during the weekend: that's something that will bring a smile to your face, long after the event is over.

You'll leave the conference with fresh inspiration, new skills, stronger relationships, and a better understanding of Joomla and its community.

Can't travel? Attend online

This year's Joomla World Conference will offer a full virtual experience too. You can join sessions, ask questions, participate in discussions, and connect with others from wherever you are.

Let's make the Joomla World Conference unforgettable

This October, let's stop being just names on a screen, or anonymous Joomla users.

Let's meet - face to face, heart to heart. Together we'll create memories that will last and show the world what happens when a global community decides to come together.

See you at the Joomla World Conference - in person or online.

About the author

Before I got my current job as Coordinator Communications & Digital, I ran my own company for 25 years. The first 15 years I was a writer / editor / journalist / writing coach, but then I created my first website with Joomla... and I was hooked. I switched careers and became a website developer. My current job combines these two skills, so that's a win-win 🙂

Why I contribute to Joomla

To many people Joomla is just a tool. But if you look a little closer, you'll notice it's much more than that. It's a living system, raised and nourished by a community of volunteers dedicating their time to make it the best CMS ever. Without volunteers, Joomla wouldn't exist. It's not 'just a product'. Everyone who uses Joomla, can do so because someone, somewhere, contributed to it. I want to give back to the community that keeps Joomla alive.

And, probably needless to say: I love being part of that community.

Contributing to Joomla by volunteering brought me so much: valuable experience, more knowledge and a better understanding of Joomla and its community, and the opportunity to work together with a crowd of lovely people all over the world.
