I'm part of JCM, now what?

Thank you for joining the JCM team! Here are a few things everyone on the team needs to be aware of:

Mission Statement

The JCM is a community driven project which provides resources, reviews, news and opinion on the Joomla! world, with an emphasis on all of the positive things happening in the Joomla! project and it's community.

Joomla! Code of Conduct

The JCM is an official publication of the Joomla! project. Among other things, this means that all team members need to abide by the terms of the Joomla! Code of Conduct. The code of conduct explains in detail the following important points:

  • Be Considerate
  • Be Respectful
  • Be Collaborative
  • Step Down Considerately
  • Be Available
  • Be Honest
  • Follow the Rules
  • Exercise Discretion and Confidentiality at Appropriate Times
  • Conflict of Interest
  • The Fine Print/Precedence

Team Member Profile

Complete a profile which will be viewable to the public consisting of:

  • Name
  • Photo (max 640x640 pixels.jpg which will be re-sized to 64x64 pixels for the website)
  • Role on the magazine team
  • City, State/Province, etc., Country of residence
  • Descriptive paragraph about you
  • Email address (if desired)
  • Website URL (if desired)

Communication channels We want our communications to be as open as possible. These are the primary communication channels used by the magazine team:

  • Joomla! Community Magazine forum (and Editors sub forum): These are public forums where we can connect with community members and collaborate with each other. All team members are encouraged to monitor and participate in these forums. This is the preferred area for questions and items for discussion which do not need to be private, so that our communications are open to the community and also so there is a public archive of these discussions.
  • Joomla! Community Magazine Google Docs: This is a repository for JCM processes, documentation, and related information. Some of these documents will be  viewable to the public, but some may only be viewable to the JCM team. If you need access to edit one or more of these Google Docs, or want to create a new one, send an email to the lead editors at This email address is being protected from spambots.   • Google Group email list:  For announcements and updates that all team members should be aware of, and for discussions which should not be public.   • Group Skype chat: Primarily intended for brainstorming. Send an email to the lead editors at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. if you have a Skype ID but have not been added to this group chat soon after joining the team.
