Steve Burge

Steve is the founder of OSTraining. A teacher for many years, he also ran Alledia.com, a leading web development firm in Atlanta, Georgia. Steve's firm built over 200 Joomla-powered websites. He now travels widely teaching people how to use Joomla, WordPress and Drupal and served on the Open Source Matters board which helps run the Joomla project. He wrote Joomla Explained, the best-selling and best-reviewed Joomla book.

Joomla, in partnership with SiteGround, will provide an improved demo site and a new free hosting option at Joomla.com. Steve Burge interviewed Sarah Watz, the President of Open Source Matters and asked her about the new joomla.com and demo.joomla.org.
The 2nd Joomla! World Conference was held last month. Last year in San Jose there were keynote speakers from major open source names such as MySQL and Mozilla. This year the team went a step further and invited a speaker from WordPress. Matt Mullenweg is one of the two co-founders of WordPress and also the founder of Automattic, the company behind WordPress.com.
