A new feature in Joomla 5.2 makes life so much easier for Joomla component developers!

It's called the ModalSelect standard field, and it provides a really easy way to implement a modal window in your component.

A few years ago I created a free website using launch.joomla.org. I registered the website specialist.joomla.com and created a Joomla 3 website with an English and Dutch page with a small description about my (business and volunteer) work.

On October 15, 2024, the Joomla community took another big step forward with the official release of version 5.2. Though anticipated, this version continues to surprise with the wealth of improvements and the simplicity it brings to both users and developers.

More than just a technical update, Joomla 5.2 invites users to rediscover a tool that evolves continuously to meet the needs of website creators.

This month we are thrilled to include a double interview with the new Joomla 5.2 release team: Marc Dechèvre and Peter Martin. The aim of these interviews is to let the Community know a bit more about the release leads and their plans for the future of Joomla 5.2.
