Dear friends, on November 2^nd 2021 our Vito Disimino, precious Vito, left us at only 63 years old. He had an incurable disease with which he fought to the end. We are all heartbroken, he was a trusted friend even before he was a colleague, a valuable Joomler, a great Leader.

Vito was a kind and skilled person, he left a place difficult to fill. He has served as a positive leader, driving his working groups with passion, hearth and intelligence, never aggressive and always available to help; his ego never took over, he was humble and open to hear others. 

He leaves his wife Nella and daughters Laura and Valeria and will remain in our memory forever with his strength, his patience and the incredible welcoming energy that never put him in conflict with the things of life.

We want to remember him by going through the happy moments lived together as friends and as Joomlers, moments that he gave to our community by putting himself at the service as few can do, without asking for anything in return.

Vito Disimino

Vito was a member of the JAT, Joomla Accessibily Team as well as a very good Project Manager, President of the MotoClub of Gessate and one of the most active members of the Joomla Lombardia association, a great resource that has all the merit of having brought to our world the very topical issue of digital accessibility before all the others.

Furthermore, since 2016 Vito has led the implementation of the accessible template for Joomla in accordance with the guidelines of the Italian Government Digital Agency. Since 2020 he contributed publishing the SitiAccessibili website, taking care of its strict compliance with accessibility, enriching it with content, articles and ideas.

We also owe to Vito Disimino the collaboration between the Blind Institute of Milan and the Joomla Lombardia association, still successfully ongoing.

Vito has participated in many initiatives for Joomla, for digital accessibility and for the local Joomla Association, as organizer, speaker, teacher, content creator and enthusiastic supporter. We want to recall here the most important stages of this journey that we have made together.
