Open Source Matters: October 2010 Report

Open Source Matters is the non-profit organization which was formed to manage the legal, financial, and trademark related matters for the Joomla! project. In this issue's Leadership connections article from Open Source Matters, OSM board member Steve Burge shares some of the work that OSM has been doing during October on behalf of the Joomla! project.

New Board Members

The major event that occured for OSM during October was the arrival of several new board members.

On October 1st we welcomed 3 new members: Philip Locke, Paul Orwig and Altansukh Tumenjargal. Later in the month we welcomed 4 more: Alice Grevet, Dianne Henning, Marijke Stuivenberg and Andrea Tarr.

We're delighted to welcome such a diverse and exciting set of people. They come from the UK, the Netherlands, France, Mongolia and the US. Four of them are women. Here's a quick introduction to all the new members. You can see more detailed bios on the OSM site.

Paul Orwig

Philip has very kindly agreed to become OSM's new Capital Committee Chair and lead our fundraising efforts.
