JCM goes to JaB 2018
With some of the finest joomlers in the world getting together, Cologne was a great place to be in May! JCM had the opportunity to attend and check out this great event.
Once again it was great to meet old friends and make new ones, find where the Joomla Project is heading and hear some exciting news about the upcoming Joomla 4!
Joomla Community Magazine had the opportunity to attend J and Beyond 2018 and check the latest trends in the Joomla Project.
What is J and Beyond?
J and Beyond is an international conference for Joomla Developers and site integrators from around the world. Now in its 9th year, the conference attracted approx 250 of the top minds in the Joomla world from over 30 different countries.
The Joomla Community
In an event such as J and Beyond it is easy to see what an amazing sense of community there is in the project.
Each individual brings their knowledge and background to the event, creating a diverse environment. And every older member of the community does his/her best to welcome newcomers and make them feel part of the Joomla global family. No one is a stranger at J and Beyond.
People with similar thoughts
Many of us may work with Joomla on a daily basis, but there aren’t many who get to have around to discuss Joomla with. At J and Beyond 2018, it was easy to see people spending a weekend surrounded by their peers who have Joomla as a common interest, exchanging their knowledge, finding answers to issues and chatting about their lives.
Joomla brings people together at J and Beyond and attendees had the opportunity to meet people with different backgrounds and enjoy conversations on a wide variety of topics.
The Value of J and Beyond
As usual, the event offered a wide and high skilled set of speakers in a variety of sessions that catered to the diverse audience of attendees. Many of the presentations had experts from the community sharing their experiences and understanding about Joomla with the audience.
A big THANK YOU to each and every sponsor and especially to every volunteer who helped J and Beyond 2018 come to life.
