Mark your calendars for February 24th, 2024, because the Pizza, Bugs, and Fun (PBF) event is back, and it's going to be bigger and better than ever! Whether you're a seasoned Joomla! enthusiast or new to the scene, PBF 2024 offers a unique opportunity to make a real difference while enjoying some fun and free pizza.

What is Pizza, Bugs, and Fun?

Pizza, Bugs, and Fun is a global event dedicated to improving Joomla! This year, we're focusing on finalising Joomla! 5.1, and we need your help to tackle untested bugs and open documentation tasks. But it's not all work; there's plenty of fun, too! Free pizza and drinks are on us, as a thank you for your valuable contributions.

Why You Should Participate

PBF is more than just a coding event; it's a celebration of collaboration and community. By participating, you'll be:

1. Making an Impact: Your contributions help enhance Joomla!, directly impacting millions of users worldwide.

2. Learning and Growing: Whether it's bug fixing or documentation, PBF is a great opportunity to sharpen your skills.

3. Networking: Meet fellow Joomlers, share experiences, and build lasting connections, both locally and globally.

4. Having Fun: Enjoy the camaraderie, the satisfaction of problem-solving, and, of course, the pizza!

Join or Host a Location

You can join an existing location or take the initiative to host your own – either in-person or virtually. Hosting is straightforward:

1. Secure a Venue: Find a space with free access, WiFi, electricity, and enough tables and chairs. A projector and screen are a plus!

2. Get the Word Out: Recruit participants and ensure they have GitHub and Joomla! Docs accounts. Assistance is available for newcomers.

3. Plan for the Day: Provide soft drinks and organize a lunchtime pizza treat for active participants. Keep receipts for reimbursement.

4. Enjoy the Day: Arrive early to set up, and then dive into the fun and collaborative spirit of PBF!

Reflecting on Past Success

The last PBF event was a resounding success, with around 150 participants across 19 locations. This incredible turnout led to 72 pull requests resolved and over 500 documentation edits. Such achievements showcase the power and impact of our global Joomla! community.

Feedback and Community Spirit

The most heart-warming aspect of PBF is the community spirit. Feedback from previous events highlights the joy of collaboration, meeting like-minded individuals, and the simple pleasure of sharing a meal (even virtually). A full 100% of participants expressed eagerness to join future PBF events, a testament to the event's success and appeal.
