An Eventful Year!

An Eventful Year!
2011 has been a very active year for the International Joomla community.

Apart from all the activity around the development and release of Joomla 1.6, 1.7, and the Joomla Platform, our International community has also been hard at work organizing JoomlaDay events in their regions.

A total of 27 JoomlaDay events were held in cities all over the world:

Santiago, Chile; Stockholm, Sweden; Pune, Maharashtra, India; Doorn, Netherlands; Brattleboro, Vermont, USA; Lyon, France; Alger, Algeria; Athens, Greece; Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; Santiago, Chile; Chicago, Illinois, USA; Drammen, Norway; Tesanj, Bosnia; Cape Town, South Africa; Hamburg, Germany; Florianópolis/SC, Brazil; Austin, Texas, USA; London, England; Tel Aviv, Israel; Florence, Italy; New York City, New York, USA; Kolding, Denmark; Sydney, Australia; Helsinki, Finland; Zaragoza, Spain; Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA; Oran, Algeria.

Many volunteers were involved with organizing these events, and organizers could also count on support from Open Source Matters, and the Joomla Project.

The reports from these JoomlaDays were all positive, and showed an energized community that is eager to learn and to share their knowledge with others.

We end this year with two JoomlaDay events:

Los Angeles, USA

JoomlaDay Los Angeles is scheduled for the 3rd of December 2011, and will be held at Microsoft Southwest District, Los Angeles California. Remember to register in advance.

Lagos, Nigeria

The Joomla User Group Nigeria, will be hosting their 5th edition of Joomla! Day Nigeria on Saturday, the 17th of December 2011. This event is geared towards educating, supporting and socialising with the Joomla! Community in Nigeria. Registration is free.
