Zapping Joomla!

Zapping Joomla!

Zapier is a popular task automation service that utilizes "Zaps"; a Zap is made of a "trigger" (ex.: When I receive a new email in Gmail...) and an "action" (ex.: ...send me an SMS message). Zaps run automatically to move and manage data without any work on your part. Zapier offers integrations for more than 1,000 apps, letting you easily transfer data between them to automate repetitive tasks.

Zapier is a widely used platform to move data around from one platform to another and offers simple solutions for users and administators. I have personally been using Zapier in one of its most basic functions to interface with my newsletter service. When I send a newsletter, the Facebook and Twitter zap's automatically post the newsletter on my social networks. The wide range of app's available on Zapier help to automate many tasks and share data on multi-platforms.

1,000's of apps

The extensive list of app's is impressive with apps for accounting, forms, communication, images, funnels, dropbox, social nextworks, marketing, vertical markets and so much more.

One of my recent projects had me migrating a WordPress site to Joomla, that in itself is impressive, isn't it!? My client was using Zapier in many aspects of the site from sending form data to Slack and even more complex integrations. I had to search out extensions for Joomla that could connect to Zapier or Slack and soon learned that there is no exact Zapier Application for Joomla itself. The good news though is they are currently working on the integration.

Zapier is already a go-to solution from the WordPress community, integration with Joomla could open many doors for users and developers.

I was also excited to find out that we can vote to make the app a reality! Please take a moment and vote for the Joomla! Integration from the following link: https://zapier.com/apps/joomla/integrations

Happy Zapping!
