Joomla! 3 Retiring as Joomla! 4 Comes to Life

Joomla! 3.7 is to be released in a few weeks. And around three months later, Joomla! 3.8 will be released, finalising the new routing system. After that, Joomla! 3.9 will be released in conjunction with 4.0 and will include API backports to ensure a smooth migration between the two major series.

Joomla! 3.9 will be the final releas of the 3.x series and will be supported for a period of two years once it is released.

Joomla! 3.7.0 Beta4 Released

Many people have been working on fixing and testing lots of small bugs to make the new features more stable and robust. Although the stability of a RC has not been reached yet, developers believe they are very close to it. There is a good chance that the Release Candidate version is available over the next week.

We encourage you to have fun testing the Joomla 3.7 beta 4 release, which can be found at https://developer.joomla.org/news/677-joomla-3-7-0-beta4-released.html

Test and submit your findings to the Joomla! Issue Tracker.

As usual, do not upgrade any of your production sites to this beta version, which is intended for testing only.
