The Roadmap For a Great Joomla! 3.0 UX
Joomla! 3.0 is scheduled to be released in September 2012. It will include major new core features built on top of our rapidly advancing framework. But in order to apply that power effectively, everything has to be tied together in a simple and intuitive way that will result in a great user experience (UX). In this interview with longtime community contributor and Joomla! User Experience team member Kyle Ledbetter, you'll learn about his UX vision for Joomla! 3.0 and the high level roadmap for how we will get there.

Joomla in the Spotlight
Our project has certainly been in the spotlight recently! On November 7, Packt announced Joomla won the 2011 award for Best Open Source CMS. This is the third time since 2006 that Joomla has won this award. Then on November 27, Water and Stone published their 2011 Open Source CMS Market Share Report. Some parts of this report weren't exactly positive when mentioning Joomla. Here are some thoughts about these two recent items.

Administrator Templates - Does your backend need an upgrade?
One of Joomla!'s best features is how easy it is to change the look and feel of a website simply by using a different template. But many users may not know that the look and feel of the backend administrator's area for a Joomla! website is also defined by a template, and backend templates can be changed just as easily as frontend templates. This article shows how to do that and also gives links to some different current free administrator templates.
