The Joomla!Day events are organized by the local Joomla! communities.
Joomla! User Groups around the world allow thousands of Joomla! users to connect each month with local Joomla! users, and talk about everything from the Joomla! Community and the latest releases, to their own experiences and solutions with Joomla! This month we caught up with the members of the Joomla! User Group in Cape Town, South Africa and asked them about their user group, what they liked about it, and how it impacted them!
Summer is here! and a lot is happening in the Joomla! World! Joomla! Events are taking place on almost every continent this summer, and that means there’s one close to you! Here’s a quick run down of some of the events that have already taken place this summer, and some events that you can still make it to, that you don’t want to miss!
Have you ever heard of JAB? JAB is an abbreviation of jandbeyond
. An international conference about Joomla! and all things related to Joomla! The first JAB was held in 2010 and unfortunately I wasn't able to attend due to work reasons. This year I had the chance to attend JAB and I made it. Now, four weeks later, I want to share my feelings about the jandbeyond conference with you because I want to tell you the impressions I got out of the conference, and it's not as easy as I thought!
Unfortunately, I am not able to attend 2011 CMS Expo, USA
(May 2-4) which seems to be a highly anticipated event in the fast-growth CMS Sector, and usually I write articles after attending a conference and not in advance, but in the Joomla!sphere, everything is a bit different these days. I assume many people will come directly from the CMS Expo to Europe for a truly unique event:
The Dutch Joomladays are a continuing success since April 2006. Hundreds of Joomla! users and professionals have attended the annual event since then. On the 2nd and 3rd of April 2011 many Joomla! users, developers, professionals and community members did travel to a central location in the Netherlands to attend the Dutch Joomla!days.
Each month Joomla! users around the world gather for collaboration, learning, and good times with Joomla! User Groups in over 50 countries (55 to be exact
). Groups range from get-togethers of 8 or 9 people, to meetups of over 40 people! I caught up with the Joomla! User Group in Suffolk, England for this last month's meeting for a good time, and a quick interview. We were able to talk with JUG members and get their thoughts on JUG's and how the Joomla! Community is affecting them.
In the space of five days in January, I found myself catapulted into Joomla! gatherings around the globe in some unexpected ways. All of them left me feeling grateful for this wide and wonderful community, and marveling at technological advances, as we all celebrated the launch of Joomla 1.6
Casting call! Grab your camcorders! The JCM is looking for a few good videos of how you use Joomla! in your part of the world!
It’s Back! J and Beyond is back for its second annual event, and it’s out to please! Joomla! Community Magazine editors caught up with Robert Deutz, Events Team Leader for OSM and Coordinator for JAB11, as well as Brian Teeman, Joomla! Co-founder and Organizer for JAB11, to get the scoop on the upcoming event!
