School's Not Out for the Summer!

The 8 GSoC students who will be participating from Joomla for the 2012 Google Summer of Code were announced this month. Follow their progress and read about how they will be taking Joomla to new limits in this prestigious and high-profile competition.

New Kids on the Block

After a thorough nominations process, OSM welcomed new members to the board: Thomas Hampton who will be serving as Treasurer, and three others: Leonel Canton from Guatemala, Ofer Cohen from Israel, and Paulo Griiettner from Brazil. OSM thanks these new recruits for joining the adventure, as well as all of the nominees in a particularly strong pool.

Show and Tell Showcase

The Showcase site team has grown by three new members, and they encourage sitebuilders to register and submit their Joomla websites for a potential selection as site of the month. Show your site off in the showcase!

Going Dutch

JoomlaDay Netherlands on April 21-22 was a great event, boasting attendance by all three leadership teams: Sander Potjer (CLT), Peter Martin (CLT), Andy Tarr (PLT), Marijke Stuivenberg (OSM) Paul Orwig (OSM). That's a lot of team spirit. Read Paul's report in "A Tale of Two Cookies".

Forum and For All

Joomla is adding a new forum! In an effort to collect ideas and work on PR and the continued effort to promote the Joomla brand, be on the lookout in the coming weeks for a forum devoted to PR (URL coming soon!)
