Write your own App using Joomla! Platform

A few days ago Joomla! platform version 11.3 was released. More and more people are wondering what Joomla! platform is about. The following article is a chapter of the upcoming Joomla! Development Beginner's Guide which will be released as a free pdf as soon as possible. The term Joomla! platform is quite new. It was introduced with the release of Joomla! 1.6 in January 2011.

Join the Joomla! Tweet Team

Sometimes stuff happens! I am now one of the responsible people for the Joomla! Twitter Account and the Joomla! Facebook page - don't ask :)
A new version of Joomla! always attracts new people to Joomla!. Therefore it is very important to embrace beginners. Sometimes they are very experienced in cms related stuff, sometimes not. After the launch of Joomla! 1.7 on July 19th, it was time for a new Joomla! 1.7 - Beginner's Guide.

JAB11 - An International Joomla! Conference

Have you ever heard of JAB? JAB is an abbreviation of jandbeyond. An international conference about Joomla! and all things related to Joomla! The first JAB was held in 2010 and unfortunately I wasn't able to attend due to work reasons. This year I had the chance to attend JAB and I made it. Now, four weeks later, I want to share my feelings about the jandbeyond conference with you because I want to tell you the impressions I got out of the conference, and it's not as easy as I thought!

Awesomenimity at J and Beyond 2011

Unfortunately, I am not able to attend 2011 CMS Expo, USA (May 2-4) which seems to be a highly anticipated event in the fast-growth CMS Sector, and usually I write articles after attending a conference and not in advance, but in the Joomla!sphere, everything is a bit different these days. I assume many people will come directly from the CMS Expo to Europe for a truly unique event:
Approximately 3000-6000 languages are spoken by humans for thousands of years. The picture shows Cuneiform, the earliest form of written expression. When I see this picture it is not that far away from the design of a website, even the ‘design’ is 5000 years old. The spoken language died out around the 18th century BC, but still today Cuneiform exists in Unicode ( U+12000–U+1236E (879 characters)  ). That means it would be possible to create a Joomla! website in Cuneiform.
